1. Purpose of this document

In accordance with Spanish Law 41/2002 on patient autonomy, before submitting your consultation you should know how remote medical care works, what it can and cannot offer you, and accept it freely. You can revoke this consent at any time by writing to hello@dudoctor.com.

2. What it involves

A registered doctor assesses your case based on the information you provide in writing (questionnaire, messages, photographs and documents), without a physical examination or video call, and replies in writing in your patient area.

3. Benefits

  • Quick access to a medical assessment from anywhere, with no travel or appointment.
  • Written follow-up, with everything discussed recorded in your medical record.

4. Limitations and risks

  • Without a physical examination or tests, some conditions cannot be diagnosed or may go unnoticed.
  • The quality of the assessment depends on the information and images you provide being truthful, complete and clear.
  • The doctor may ask you for additional information, a blood test or an in-person visit, or conclude that your case is not suitable for online care.
  • Replies are not immediate: the service is not suitable for emergencies. If you have serious symptoms, call 112.
  • As with any IT system, technical incidents may occur; we apply enhanced security measures against them.

5. Alternatives

You can at any time see your GP, a specialist in person or, in an emergency, an emergency service.

6. Treatment and prescription

Submitting a consultation does not guarantee that a medicine will be prescribed. If the doctor proposes a treatment, they will explain its purpose, how to take it, its most relevant side effects and the signs you should watch for. You should read the package leaflet and ask any questions before starting.

7. Your commitments

  • Answer truthfully and not omit illnesses, allergies, pregnancy or medication.
  • Consult only about your own health and be over 18.
  • Inform the doctor of any change or side effect.

8. Confidentiality

Your information forms part of your medical record, is protected by professional secrecy and is processed in accordance with the Privacy policy.

9. Declaration

By ticking the acceptance box before submitting your consultation, you declare that you have read and understood this document, that you have been able to resolve your questions and that you agree to receive online medical care under the conditions described.
