FAQ
How the consultation works, who reviews your case and how we protect your data. If you can't find your question, ask the doctor in your consultation.
How it works
How does the online consultation work?
You choose the reason for your consultation and answer a clinical questionnaire of around 5 minutes, designed by doctors for that specific problem. A registered doctor reviews your answers and replies in writing in your patient area, with their assessment and your treatment plan. We email you when your reply is ready, without ever mentioning the reason for your consultation.
What is Consultation and treatment?
It is the DuDoctor service that combines, in a single step, a consultation with a registered doctor and your treatment: you fill in an online questionnaire and receive their written reply in less than 15 minutes, with follow-up messages included.
How long does the doctor take to reply?
Our aim is to reply in less than 15 minutes. If the doctor needs any further information to assess your case, they will write to you first in your patient area, so keep an eye on the email address you have given us.
Do I need an appointment or a video call?
No. The whole process is in writing: you answer the questionnaire whenever suits you and read the doctor's reply whenever you like, from your phone or computer. And the conversation does not end there: if you have questions about the reply or want to report how you are getting on, you can write to the doctor from your patient area and attach images or documents if needed.
Safety and medical judgement
Who reviews my consultation?
A registered doctor. No reply is automatic: a person with medical training reads your full case, decides whether it can be handled remotely and signs their reply. If you write later in your consultation thread, it is also the medical team who answers.
Does the consultation include a treatment prescription?
Yes. A registered doctor reviews your health, your medication and your medical history and, in less than 15 minutes, replies in writing with your treatment prescription: how to follow it and what to watch for.
What happens if my case cannot be treated online?
The doctor will tell you clearly and explain what kind of care you need: your family doctor, an in-person specialist or, if there are warning signs, an emergency department. Some problems require a physical examination or tests, and recognising that is part of good medical care.
Can I use this service if I have an emergency?
No. This service does not handle emergencies and replies are not immediate. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, bleeding, loss of consciousness or any other serious symptom, go to an emergency department or call the emergency number in your country.
Privacy and data
Who can see my answers and my photos?
Only you and the service's medical team. The photos and documents you attach are not public or reachable through a link: they are only shown after logging in and checking that whoever requests them has permission to see them.
How is my health data protected?
Your answers, your messages and your medical history are stored encrypted, and the connection to the website is encrypted too. The emails we send you never include information about your health: they simply let you know there is news in your private area.
Can I download or delete my data?
Yes. From your patient area you can view and correct your details and download a complete copy. You can also ask us to erase them; bear in mind that healthcare regulations require medical records to be kept for a minimum period. You will find full details in the privacy policy.
Have another question?
Ask the doctor within your consultation: they'll reply in writing, in your patient area.
