A medical approach, not a miracle diet
Excess weight is a health problem influenced by genetics, hormones, sleep, stress and medication, as well as diet and exercise. That’s why you won’t find crash diets or promises of kilos per week here: a doctor studies your case and suggests a plan you can keep up over time, with drug treatment only when it’s indicated.
Who this consultation is for
- Adults with overweight or obesity who want to lose weight under medical supervision.
- People who have already tried diet and exercise without lasting results.
- People with weight-related health problems, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes or sleep apnoea.
It’s not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone under 18. If you have or have had an eating disorder, say so in the questionnaire: the doctor will point you towards the care you really need.
What the doctor assesses
- Your starting point: height, weight, body mass index and how it has changed in recent years.
- Your history: illnesses, regular medication and treatments you’ve already tried.
- Your habits and goals: what you want to achieve and what genuinely fits your day-to-day life.
With that information they decide whether your case can be managed online, whether a blood test should come first or whether a face-to-face assessment is preferable. You’ll receive their reply in less than 15 minutes.
Drug treatment: only when indicated
There are prescription medications that help with weight loss in certain cases, always alongside changes to diet and physical activity. They’re not for everyone: they have precise indications — linked to body mass index and other health problems — as well as contraindications and possible adverse effects. The doctor only prescribes them if your case meets the clinical criteria, and after explaining what you can expect and what to watch for.
What you can expect
Healthy weight loss is gradual: what comes off suddenly goes back on just as fast. The plan includes eating and activity guidance, realistic goals and reviews by message to adjust whatever is needed. And if at any point the doctor considers you need a different kind of care — a blood test, a face-to-face visit or the support of another specialist — they will tell you clearly.
